Mojo 111 - Owlways in my heart

How about a little Mojo Monday on Sunday. LOL! It feels like I have been unable to create for so long. I was sick with the flu for the last week. I finally felt good enough to venture in my scrap room yesterday and I came up with a card for this week's Mojo Monday challenge.

Here was this week's sketch:

And my take on the sketch:

Isn't that owl just adorable! The owl and sentiment are from the October 2009 Kit of the Month by Unity.

enjoy IHPBB2

Here is the Day 2 card I made for the challenge for the birthday celebration over at I {heart} papers! The challenge for Day 2 was to use a non traditional fold. When I checked out Design Team member Deb's blog: With a Stamp and a Song she had a link to this tutorial: Spring card tutorials I love the look of this type of card so I decided to try it:

I used some American Crafts paper I had in my stash for the card base. I used Nestabilities Classic Squares for the image square and the pink square. These Nestabilities can be found in the I {heart} paper store here: Nestabilites Classic Squares The cupcake is from the Mix Up of Cuteness set by Unity also found in the I {heart} papers store. I used grape stickles on the frosting and Glossy Accents on the cherry (both also found in the I {heart} papers store).

Birthday Wishes IHPBB1

Here is my first entry for this week's birthday batch over at I {Heart} Papers! The Day 1 challenge was to use the colors from their logo: celery, light blue, rose and black.

I embossed part of the background with a cuttlebug folder. I punched the scallop square and added baby blue stickles to the scallops.(available in the I {heart} papers store here: baby blue stickles ) I added a party hat by American Crafts and bling on the hat. Some ribbon, a flower, another bling gem and the sentiment and done! The sentiment is part of the Love in the Air kit by Unity.

Sometimes better, sometimes worse. Not sure about today's outcome. I like it but it definitely looked different in my head. :)

Sketchfest Tuesday - Happy Birthday Wishes

So it's day three of Sketchfest on Caarvarks. Wonderful sketches so far this week. I have been able to finish the cards quickly. That's very helpful since I have to work all day so I only have a short time to play in my scrap room. I decided to turn the sketch today because the ideas were just not flowing for the vertical sketch.

Here is today's sketch:

And here's my take on the sketch:

The happy sentiment is from the Flirty Flower set by Unity. The Birthday wishes sentiment is from the Love in the air set by Unity.

Friends with Flair - Happy Holidays

Another Friday Friends with Flair! So I thought the unofficial theme for today was to use the Unity Addicts challenge from this week. I guess it was "Things that grow." Oops! I already started this card though and didn't have time to change it.

So here is my holiday card using Red, Blue, Pink and Kraft:

The flower stamp is from the April Kit of the Month. I stamped the flower with Positively Pink ink from SU.

The sentiment is from the Bitty Christmas Tags kit. I stamped the sentiment with Brilliant Blue from SU.

The gems are red (they kind of look darker in the picture). They are from Kaiser.

I believe the paper is from DCWV but not 100% sure since it was from my scraps box. Pink paper was also in my scraps box.

Make sure to check out everyone's Friends with Flair blog posts today by starting at the Unity Blog: http://theunitystampco.blogspot.com/ Unity is also having some great contests to kick of their new "Who does that?" motto.

I colored the pearls in the center of the flowers pink.
