Hip Hop Hangover

Hip Hop Hangover

So the theme for today's Hangover is trees. There are so many wonderful tree stamps by Unity it was hard to pick one for the card. I decided to use the one from the August Kit of the Month. I also made this card for the doodling challenge on Hip Hop. I do NOT doodle. My handwriting is bad enough so my doodles are worse. I just used a basic line and dot doodle around the frame.

The pattern paper is by Anna Griffin from the Sierra Line.

It's a celebration over at the Mojo Monday blog. This whole week there have been different sketches. This post is for their first sketch MOJO100.

I also made this card for the Hip Hop Challenge to Sponge it! on SCS. Not sure if I really like how the sponging turned out though. Loved this sketch so I will definitely be using it again.

Flower stamp is from the August 2009 Kit of the Month by Unity.
Sentiment is from the Bevy of Butterflies set by Unity.

Hip Hop Hangover

Hip Hop Hangover

TGI Hip Hop Hangover Friday!! We are leaving on a long weekend camping trip today! Yay!!!

I am posting my two Hip Hop challenge cards from yesterday.

This first one is just ugh! My camera battery died right when I was going to take the picture. I had to scan it. It really didn't scan very well. Trust me it looks better in person. I am thankful that the battery died though so I would get it charged up before we leave for our trip. Any way the stamps are from the Bevy of Butterflies set. Paper is by American Crafts.

This second card was for the Wing It challenge. I also used SC240 sketch. I tried a couple different versions of the butterflies on this card before it was finished including glitter (which just didn't work.)

Be sure to check out all the other blogs in the Hip Hop Hangover. You can find the list at the Unity blog.

Mojo 98 card

I played with glitter! I don't use a lot of glitter on my cards because most of the cards I make are sent to Cards for Heroes. The cards that are sent to soldiers cannot have any glitter on them for safety reasons. So for this card I decided to break out the sparkly stuff! I covered the butterfly with a layer of glitter to make it shine! I also added some gems to the center of the butterfly and the patterned paper has glitter too. (And my cat also has some glitter on him too!) Messy stuff but so much fun!

I used this week's sketch from Mojo Monday for the card:

The butterfly stamp is from the Bevy of Butterflies set by Unity. The friend to friend sentiment stamp is from the June 2009 Kit of the Month by Unity.

Swap card

My cards are a little late and if you are part of the group I am swapping with don't look. :)

I used the doily-lace scallop-edge border punch by Martha Stewart on the three different pattern papers from the Porcelain 6 x6 pack by Basic Grey.
The cute tea pot stamp is from the June 2009 Kit of the Month by Unity.
The sentiment is from the May Kit of the Month by Unity.
I used the Petite Scalloped Circle nestie behind the teapot.

I made this card for the Jacksonbelle Embellishments Tuesday challenge. This weeks challenge was to use Martha Stewart punches! I love Martha punches!

I also made it for the CHA Week Challenge 2 - Apron Inspired challenge on SCS.
